In a shocking incident in northern India’s capital, Delhi, an 18-year-old boy lost his life after an air conditioner unit fell on his head from the second floor of a building.

The incident took place in the Karol Bagh area of Central Delhi on August 17.

Visuals captured the moment when two boys were chatting near the building’s entrance. One boy was seated on a stationary scooter, while the other stood beside him. Suddenly, an air conditioner unit plummeted from the second floor, striking the boy on the scooter directly on the head, causing both boys to collapse instantly due to the impact.

According to reports, the incident occurred at 7 pm on Saturday after which both boys were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared the 18-year-old, identified as Jitesh Chadha, dead on Sunday. His 17-year-old friend is undergoing treatment for his injuries and remains in critical condition.

The local police station at DBG Road has registered a case, and a forensic team has been deployed to investigate the cause of the air conditioner’s fall. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
