Furious locals throw reckless bikers’ vehicles off flyover in southern India

In a shocking incident in southern India’s Karnataka, a group of enraged motorists and residents resorted to drastic measures against reckless wheelie stunts performed by desperate youngsters on busy roads.

The incident took place in Nelamangala town near Tumkur district on August 15.

Visuals showed the furious locals and other road users surrounding the youths and seizing two of their gearless two-wheelers. In a fit of rage, they hurled the bikes from a flyover onto the service road, about 30 feet below.

According to reports, on Thursday, one of the stunt performers collided with another two-wheeler from the rear, causing a minor accident near Nelamangala. Disgusted by the reckless behavior, the passersby decided to take matters into their own hands.

Meanwhile, police authorities claimed to have registered a case on Saturday. “It is common practice among a section of the youth from Bengaluru city to take to highways to perform wheelies, especially on weekend mornings and midnights. However, we have increased patrolling to curb their activities,” a senior police officer stated.

The parents or guardians of the two youths involved in the Tumkur highway incident reside in Mathikere and Yeshwanthpur in north Bengaluru. While the parents of one of the youths arrived at the police station on Saturday evening, the police are still searching for the other youth,” an investigating officer reported.
