Clashes erupt in northern India during Lodhi Jayanti celebration after DJ accident

A Shobha Yatra celebrating Lodhi Jayanti in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh turned violent when a DJ fell from a vehicle near a mosque, injuring two Muslim children and sparking a clash between the two sides.

The incident took place near a Mosque in Meerut and the video went viral on August 17.


Visuals showed in a street, a group of people were fighting and throwing stones at each other. The scene quickly descended into chaos, with people running in all directions, creating a state of pandemonium. The street was filled with the sounds of shouting and the sight of people scrambling to escape the violence.

According to reports a festive Shobha Yatra was organised to celebrate Lodhi Jayanti descended into chaos when a DJ fell from a vehicle close to a mosque. The incident resulted in head injuries to two young Muslim children.

The accident quickly escalated tensions, leading to a violent confrontation between the celebrants and the local community.

Stone-pelting ensued, intensifying the clash and resulting in further damage and injuries.
