JCB machine topples during building demolition in western India, no injuries reported

In a dramatic turn of events, a JCB machine toppled over during the demolition of a dangerous building in western India’s Maharashtra, narrowly avoiding a major accident. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, saw one worker escape being buried under debris as the machine fell.

The incident took place at Bhanu Park, Navghar Road, Bhayander East, Mira Bhayander on August 8.

Visuals showed JCB tipping over onto its side, causing a scare among the workers. Fortunately, both the operator and cleaner inside the machine managed to escape unharmed. As the JCB teetered on the edge of the debris pile, workers used bamboo supports to stabilize the structure and prevent further collapse.

Bhayander witnessed a heart-stopping moment yesterday as a JCB machine collapsed while demolishing the perilous Bhanu Park building on Navghar Road. The demolition, overseen by the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation as part of their monsoon season safety efforts, was marred by the unexpected mishap.

Despite the dramatic scene, there were no injuries reported. The incident, however, has raised concerns among residents about the safety standards being followed during such demolition operations. The close call has prompted calls for a review of safety protocols to prevent similar accidents in the future.
