Waterfall-like situation as heavy rain pours from railway station roof in northern India

Torrential rain in northern India’s Haryana led to a dramatic scene at the city’s modern railway station, where water cascaded from the roof like a waterfall.

The incident took place in Gurugram city on August 8.

Visuals showed water began pouring from the roof of the railway station like a waterfall, continuously streaming onto the platform and tearing through the tin shed overhead.

According to reports, the intense rainfall also caused a plastered balcony to collapse in DLF Phase-2, damaging multiple vehicles, and the roof of a shop in Badshahpur to cave in, though no injuries were reported.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Haryana, including Yamunanagar, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Mewat, and Palwal, with more rain expected in the coming days. Despite these heavy downpours, Haryana has recorded its lowest monsoon rainfall in the last five years.
