Farmer finds 16-carat diamond worth over $72,000 in central India
A farmer and his three partners in central India’s Madhya Pradesh struck it rich after discovering a 16.10-carat diamond.
The incident took place in Panna district on August 6.
Visuals showed the man telling how he discovered the diamonds with his other three partners and the shining unique shaped diamond was submitted to the Office of District Diamond Officer of Panna.

According to reports, the estimated value of this sparkling gem is around 60 lakh rupees (over $72,000 USD). The diamond was found in a private mine in Jaraupur and has been submitted to the Diamond Office for auction.

The farmer, Dilip Mistry, along with his partners, experienced immense joy upon discovering the glittering gem. This is not their first find; they have previously unearthed multiple diamonds from the same mine. The proceeds from the diamond auction will be used to improve their financial situation.

The local diamond expert, Anupam Singh, confirmed the diamond’s high quality, stating it will be auctioned with a 12.50% royalty deduction, and the remaining amount will go to the farmer and his partners. The discovery highlights the potential for life-changing finds in the diamond-rich soils of Panna.
