Floods in northeastern India force residents to use excavators for travel through waterlogged areas
In the wake of severe flooding in northeastern India’s Assam, residents have been forced to navigate waterlogged streets using unconventional methods, including JCB excavators.
The incident took place in Guwahati city and the video went viral on August 5.
Visuals showed people on an excavator to travel through the severely flooded roads and streets actually enjoying the ride.
According to reports, the floods, caused by heavy monsoon rains, have submerged numerous areas, making regular transportation impossible. As floodwaters rose, people were seen riding on the buckets of JCB excavators to reach safety or carry out essential tasks.
