Road suddenly sinks in northern India, engulfing bus and JCB during heavy rains

In a shocking incident in northern India’s Rajasthan, heavy rains caused the ground to collapse, swallowing a school bus and a JCB brought in for rescue.

The incident took place in Bharat Vihar Colony on Agra Road in Jamdoli, near Kanota in Jaipur on August 2.

Visuals showed after continuous rainfall, a portion of the road broke apart, trapping several vehicles. A JCB machine arrived to rescue these vehicles but ended up falling into the hole itself.

Amidst relentless heavy rainfall, a newly laid sewer line beneath the colony’s road suddenly sank, resulting in a school bus and several other vehicles getting trapped.

Currently, Rajasthan is experiencing torrential rains, leading to flooding in various regions. In Bharat Vihar Colony, the collapse occurred unexpectedly, trapping a Magic school van full of children. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. According to sources, the sewer line was laid over a stretch of five hundred meters just a short while ago, but it gave way due to the persistent rainfall.

A JCB was dispatched to rescue the trapped vehicles, but it too got swallowed by the unstable ground. This incident has been widely shared on social media, quickly going viral. The heavy rains have led to numerous disruptions across Rajasthan, with areas experiencing severe waterlogging and overflowing drains, causing significant inconvenience. In response to the adverse weather conditions, several schools have been closed.
