Electric shock claims life of wireman while fixing street light in western India
A wireman lost his life due to an electric shock while repairing a street light in western India’s Maharashtra.

In a tragic incident that shocked the local community, 53-year-old wireman Kamalakar Bhoir lost his life due to an electric shock while on duty.
The incident occurred in Murbad, where Bhoir was repairing a malfunctioning street light under the jurisdiction of the Murbad Municipal Council.
According to reports, Bhoir climbed the pole to fix the light when the previously shut-off power supply was suddenly restored. Bhoir received a severe electric shock, causing him to fall from the pole. He sustained a severe head injury upon impact, resulting in his immediate death. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and the footage shows the critical moment leading to Bhoir’s fatal fall.
