Mini truck loaded with liquor falls off bridge in central India, no casualties reported
A mini truck carrying a large consignment of liquor fell off the river in central India’s Madhya Pradesh. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, though the driver fled the scene.
The incident took place on the Diya Pipar Son River bridge on the Shahdol-Rewa road in Shahdol district on July 17.
Visuals showed after falling off the road, the truck landed on a rocky surface near a river. The liquor bottles inside had scattered everywhere. People from the surrounding area rushed to the scene to loot the bottles.
According to reports on Wednesday morning, a mini truck loaded with liquor was en route from Shahdol to Beohari Rewa when it lost control and plunged off the Diya Pipar Son River bridge. Fortunately, the vehicle landed on dry rock, averting a major disaster.
Witnesses, including Ankit Singh, observed the scattered liquor bottles and the ensuing rush of bystanders collecting the bottles.
Upon receiving the information, Gohparu police intervened to stop the looting. Both the driver and co-driver fled the scene post-accident. The police have secured the vehicle and informed the liquor contractor about the incident. Gohparu Station In-Charge, Vinay Singh Geharwar, mentioned that further actions are being taken by the police.
