In eastern India’s West Bengal, a car collided with a decelerating express train near a station after passing under a closing level crossing gate.
The incident took place in Khardaha station in Kolkata on July 14.
Visuals showed an SUV parked by the road when the train came at full speed and collided with its rear side, it eventually came to a halt after the collision.
According to an Eastern Railway spokesperson in reports, the collision with the Hazarduari Express was not severe due to the train’s reduced speed. The car, an SUV, was empty of passengers, and the driver escaped with minor injuries. The incident occurred when the driver ignored the gateman’s warnings to stop as the gate was being closed.
