In a recent incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh a bear

The incident took place at Devi Dham Vijayasan Devi of Salkanpur, Sehore district on July 12.

Visuals showed the bear peacefully alone at night, but it was swiftly chased away by a brave dog that relentlessly barked and pursued it, forcing the bear to flee from the temple premises.

According to officials, this situation has instilled a sense of fear in the region. Jamuna Prasad Srivastava, responsible for security, recounted that on Friday night, the bear reappeared within the temple grounds, lingering near the main entrance for an extended period. Upon spotting it, he used a stick to chase the bear away, causing it to briefly rear up on its hind legs before fleeing.

Reportedly, this incident comes after two earlier bear attacks, one in the morning on the staircase, injuring two people severely, and another in the evening at the parking lot, where a local driver sustained serious wounds.

Ranger Ritu Tiwari highlighted the vast forest surrounding the temple, emphasizing the need for visitors to avoid solo outings after sunset. Authorities have been alerted and are deliberating on additional measures to tackle the issue.
