According to reports two youths narrowly escaped disaster when they and their bike were swept away by a rain-swollen drain near Sunder Khal village on Ramnagar National Highway 309.

This dramatic rescue highlights the severe impact of the ongoing rains in the region. The districts of Kumaon are among the hardest hit, with continuous downpours transforming usually manageable streams into torrents and flooding roads, disrupting daily life and endangering residents.
