Alert cops save life of man who slipped while getting down running train in southern India

Two vigilant railway policemen saved the life of a man who slipped while trying to get down a moving train in southern India’s Karnataka.

The incident is reported to have happened in Hospet railway station on March 23.

CCTV footage showed the moment when the man, identified as Narsimha, was trying to de-board the 07335 Belgaum-Secunderabad express when he lost his balance. He had held on to the handle of the train’s gate and the momentum of the moving vehicle caused him to lose his balance and get dragged.

The two cops, Assistant Sub-inspector Gururaj and head constable Santosh, who happened to be standing in the area of the platform where this happened, reacted instantaneously to pull him out of the train and out of harm’s way. Had they not acted swiftly, the man could have fallen into the gap between the train and the platform or any other serious accident could have happened.
