Infrastructure, vehicles submerge after flash floods in central India
June 28, 2024
Residents of central India’s Madhya Pradesh experienced inconvenience due to floods caused by heavy rain.
The incident took place in Morena district on June 28.
Visuals showed locals in the city were struggling with flooded streets, where knee-high water had submerged roads and partially covered infrastructure. They navigated with difficulty, pushing a bike through the flooded roadway.
According to reports, flooding took place in wards 5 and 19 due to which motorcycles submerged in drains and caused damage to four-wheelers. The initial rainfall highlighted vulnerabilities in Morena Municipal Corporation’s infrastructure. Residents encountered challenges due to inadequate sewage systems and widespread waterlogging in streets and markets, exacerbating commuting difficulties.
