Market area gets flooded by torrential rain in western India
Torrential rains have begun in western India’s Gujarat causing markets and other public places to be flooded by rainwater.
The concerned video is from a market in Nakhatrana in Kutch district where heavy rainfall occurred on June 27.
Visuals depict the overwhelming impact of torrential rain which is flooding the market. Rainwater can be seen rushing through the streets at high speed. Shops are closed and vehicles are half-submerged, creating a chaotic urban landscape which is submerged in the relentless flow of water.
According to the reports, the Meteorological department has indicated heavy rains in the upcoming days. The IMD stated that, “the monsoon is expected to further advance into more parts of the north Arabian Sea and Gujarat state, additional parts of Madhya Pradesh, the remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar, and parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the next 3-4 days,” it added.
According to the officials of the department, Tapi district in the south of Gujarat experienced heavy rainfall last week while other areas in south and north Gujarat and Saurashtra have also been subject to heavy rainfall.
