Woman attacked by pack of stray dogs in southern India

In a harrowing incident a woman was attacked by approximately 15 stray dogs during her morning walk in southern India’s Telangana.

The incident took place at Chitrapuri Hills in Manikonda area of Hyderabad on June 22.

Visuals showed in a society, a woman was attacked by 10-12 dogs. She tried hard to fend them off, but they continued to attack her relentlessly. Eventually, she took off her slipper and used it to scare the dogs away. This action caused the dogs to flee.

According to reports despite the ferocity of the attack, the woman managed to survive through sheer determination and quick thinking. At one point during the ordeal, she fell to the ground but promptly got back on her feet and used a slipper to fend off the aggressive dogs. Her resilience and resourcefulness were key in escaping further harm.

The incident has sparked outrage among the local community. The woman’s husband took to social media to highlight the danger posed by stray dogs in the colony. In a video post, he expressed his relief that his wife survived the attack and urged residents to stop feeding street dogs within the colony premises. He suggested that any feeding should take place outside the gate to minimize the risk of similar incidents occurring in the future.

“She was lucky to survive,” he remarked in his video, raising a poignant question about the safety of children in the area. “What if small children face similar attacks from these stray dogs?”

The video has since garnered significant attention, prompting calls for immediate action from local authorities to address the stray dog menace in the colony. Local residents are demanding effective measures to ensure the safety of everyone, especially vulnerable groups like children and the elderly, from such attacks.
