Youths’ life-threatening stunt for social media sparks outrage in western India

In a shocking incident in western India’s Maharashtra, a young couple performed a dangerous stunt, causing widespread anger and concern among people. 


The incident took place near Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Jambhulwadi and the news went viral on June 20.

Visuals showed a young girl was seen dangling from the edge of a structure resembling a fort, with a boy holding her hand from above, while one of their friends filmed the reel.


According to reports, the Bharati Vidyapeeth police have registered a complaint under Sections 336 (rash or negligent act endangering human life) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. Senior Inspector Dashrath Patil confirmed that the video, filmed around three months ago, involved three boys and a girl. The police are now working to trace the IP address used to upload the video online.


This incident highlights the alarming trend of dangerous stunts performed for social media and the urgent need for awareness and regulation to prevent such life-threatening acts.
