Minor rash drives car after dispute; causes injuries to elderly in western India
A rash driving incident took place in western India’s Maharashtra.
The incident took place in Vadgaon Ghenand near Alandi of Pune district on June 15.
Visuals showed a white car which is seen to be driven at high speed causing risk to the lives of people standing along the road. The car was first taking a reverse, however within seconds the car was seen to be driven at a high speed. The locals dispersed themselves however a few seconds later an elderly woman was struck by the car.
According to reports, the person driving the car is a juvenile and a resident from the locality has filed a case against him.
According to the police report, Nazuka Thorat, who lived in Ganesh Nagar, Vadgaon Ghenand, was targeted by the teenager due to a prior dispute. The juvenile, driving a car, accelerated towards Thorat. The enraged minor dashed the victim twice. The woman sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
According to officials, the situation intensified as more people, some armed with wooden sticks, gathered. The teenager then reversed about 100 meters before speeding forward again, attempting to hit others. An elderly person narrowly avoided being struck.
According to officials, Alandi Police have since charged him with attempted murder, and he has been detained in a juvenile correctional facility.
