Massive fire engulfs house in northern India

A ferocious fire broke out in a house in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh and claimed the lives of the residents.

The incident took place in Behta Hajipur village of the Loni border area in Ghaziabad on June 12.

Visuals showed the horrific site of the fire setting the house ablaze in late evening. This fire reportedly claimed the life of 5 members of the house where a woman and two children were burnt badly. The team of firefighters were immediately called to the scene of the incident.

ACP Bhaskar Verma said that the deceased have been identified as Sarik’s wife Farheen (25), seven-month-old son Siege, sister Nazra (35), brother-in-law Saif (36) and niece Isra (4). Sarik’s other sister Uzma and Nazra’s son Arsh Rehman were badly injured. They have been admitted to the hospital.

According to reports, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dinesh Kumar said “Late in the night (June 12), we received information that a fire has broken out in a house in the Loni area and people are trapped. On receiving the information, the police and fire brigade reached the spot immediately.”

Reportedly, the Additional Police Commissioner said, “According to some people, there were foam cubes in the house and because of that, the fire spread more aggressively. However, the real cause of the fire would be determined in the morning after inquiry.”

According to the locals, the team of firefighters reached the spot two hours later. The fire was somehow controlled by running a rescue operation. However, once the fire was extinguished, 5 bodies were recovered from inside the house.
