Heavy rain brings loaded truck to halt causing major road blockage in northeastern India

Major road gets blocked due to a loaded truck in northeastern India’s Sikkim.

A loaded truck has snapped the link for Dikchu Singtam road in Tintek Khola on June 12.

Visuals showed a loaded truck being stuck while crossing a stretch. The road was damaged by a series of ceaseless rainfall in the region. The region has been suffering with a series of landslides that took place due to heavy rain from the last one week.

According to reports, the Border Roads Organization, Indian Army and the other agencies are working towards towing the truck which is stuck on the road. Reports say that around 3 machines have been deployed towards the site of the incident to retrieve the truck.

The officials in the region have released an advisory for the commuters and locals to choose an alternate route and follow all the necessary rules and regulations to avoid any casualties.
