Tourists clash with boatmen in northern India India; several injured

In the popular tourist destination in northern India’s Uttarakhand, a violent altercation broke out between tourists and local boatmen.
The incident took place in Rishikesh located on the banks of the Ganges River in India on June 7.
Visuals showed how the people after coming to the shore started attacking each other and hitting with oars. It was a chaotic scene as punches were thrown and individuals were pushed into the water.
The incident, which occurred during a rafting excursion, resulted in multiple injuries on both sides. The conflict reportedly began over disagreements related to the rafting experience, escalating quickly into a physical confrontation. Local authorities arrived at the scene to break up the fight and provide medical assistance to the injured.
Rishikesh is renowned for its spiritual significance and adventure sports, particularly white-water rafting.
