Bidding goodbye to one’s work and retiring is one of the most emotional moments of a person’s life and an example of that was seen when football legend Sunil Chhetri bid a memorable farewell to fans and teammates as he retired from the career in eastern India’s West Bengal.

This happened in salt lake stadium in Kolkata on June 6.

Visuals showed Chhetri received a heartfelt standing ovation from his loyal supporters as he made his way across the expansive stadium to express his gratitude. He burst into tears in the stadium as he took a lap of honour as the crowd cheered him on, and fans bid farewell to their idol. Indian fans were also seen chanting and cheer for their star player outside the stadium before the last game of Chhetri between India and Kuwait.
