Fire ravages several structures in northern India, no casualties reported

The incident took place in the Raj Bagh area of Srinagar on May 28.
Visuals showed the fire had spread intensely on the top floor of the building, with fierce flames and black smoke everywhere. Firefighters were present below, making efforts to extinguish the blaze, while local residents gathered around, watching the scene.
According to reports four structures, including two commercial buildings, were gutted in a devastating fire incident in the upscale Raj Bagh area of Srinagar on Tuesday evening. The fire erupted at around 7:25 PM in a four-story commercial building, quickly spreading to nearby structures.
Fire and Emergency Service officials reported that the blaze originated from the top floor of a commercial building owned by Haji Abdul Rashid Dar. Eyewitnesses recounted that the flames swiftly engulfed another commercial building owned by the late Muhammad Dar, causing extensive damage to both.
“The fire spread rapidly due to the blowing winds, and gas cylinder explosions inside the buildings posed significant challenges for the firefighters,” locals said.
In addition to the commercial buildings, two residential houses in the vicinity were partially damaged. Several private offices operating from the affected commercial buildings also suffered extensive losses.
Fire tenders from various city fire stations were dispatched to the scene, working tirelessly to control the leaping flames. The fire was eventually brought under control, preventing further damage.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire to determine its origin.
