The incident took place at Tons River in Uttarkashi district and the video went viral on May 17.
Visuals showed the moment when a young man hurled a dog off a bridge into the river below, while another person recorded the incident. Fortunately, the dog managed to swim to safety.
According to the reports, a complaint was lodged with the police, and they have registered a case against the accused, identified as Sandra Mori, under the provisions of the Cruelty to Animals Act. Law enforcement officials emphasized their commitment to addressing such acts of cruelty against defenceless animals, stating that perpetrators will face consequences without exception.
