A 6-foot-long cobra has been safely rescued after slithering into a haystack, sparking a tense but successful operation.
The incident took place in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, central India on December 13.
Visuals show the snake hiding in a polythene bag within a haystack, where it hissed angrily as the snake catcher uncovered it. The 6-foot-long cobra, its hood raised and ready to strike, quickly retreated into the straw before being safely captured. A crowd gathered as the dramatic rescue unfolded in the afternoon hours.
According to reports, the cobra was spotted by a labourer working in the field, sparking panic. The worker immediately alerted snake catcher Akil Baba, who swiftly arrived to rescue the reptile.
Akil Baba confirmed that the snake, an old 6-foot-long cobra, posed a deadly threat but was safely caught without any injuries. The snake was likely seeking warmth in the cold weather and will be safely released into the forest. He urged the public to keep their surroundings clean to avoid such incidents.
