5-year-old boy hospitalized after ingesting samosa containing lizard in central India
A shocking incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh has left a family shaken after a 5-year old boy unknowingly consumed part of a dead lizard inside a samosa, leading to severe stomach pain and vomiting.
The incident took place in Nipania, a locality in the city of Rewa on November 8.
Visuals showed the 5-year-old boy lies in a hospital bed, visibly in pain after accidentally consuming a samosa that contained part of a dead lizard. The child, pale and clutching his stomach, winces as medical staff administer injections to ease his discomfort. Family members stand nearby, deeply concerned, while doctors and nurses attend to him. The hospital room is filled with a tense atmosphere as the boy undergoes treatment for severe stomach pain caused by the contaminated samosa he had nearly finished eating.
According to reports, Priyansh had just returned home from school and, feeling hungry, asked his family for something to eat. His parents served him samosas purchased from a local hotel.
After taking a bite of the first samosa, Priyansh noticed an odd taste and set it aside, reaching for a second one. It was then that his father noticed something unusual in the remaining half of the first samosa. Upon closer inspection, they were horrified to discover the front half of a dead lizard embedded in the snack.
Fearing that their son might have ingested the other half, the family immediately rushed Priyansh to the Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Doctors admitted him to the ICU, where he is receiving treatment for severe stomach pain and vomiting.
The boy’s family has decided to lodge a formal complaint with the police once Priyansh’s health stabilizes. The incident has sparked concerns over food safety standards at local eateries.
