29 Maoist insurgents neutralized in fierce encounter with security forces in central India

In a significant operation, security forces engaged in a fierce clash with Maoists, resulting in the death of 29 insurgents, including a high-profile leader in central India’s Chhattisgarh.

The incident took place at Kanker on April 16.

Visuals showed a soldier firing shots from his rifle, after which cries and screams can be heard all around.

 

In a clash between security forces and Naxalites in Kanker, Chhattisgarh, 29 Maoists were killed, including the notorious Maoist Shankar Rao, who had a reward of 25 lakh on his head. Three security personnel were also injured in this incident. An exclusive video of Tuesday’s encounter has emerged, shot by a soldier of the security forces. In the one-minute video, it can be seen that about 20 seconds into the footage, a soldier fires shots from his rifle, after which cries and screams can be heard all around.

Meanwhile, the jawan shooting the video advises caution to other soldiers. He also warns against advancing further. In the video, the jawan can be heard saying, “No one will fire from behind, brother…”

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said about this encounter, “This is a significant achievement. A clash occurred between soldiers and Naxalites in the jungles of Kanker. This is a historic success. It is the biggest success so far. I congratulate the soldiers; it is the biggest success in the history of Chhattisgarh.” He said that the Maoists aimed to disrupt the Lok Sabha elections. They attempted a major incident this time, which the soldiers thwarted.
