21-year-old woman harassed by bike rider in northern India, struggle for help ensues
In a troubling incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a 21-year-old woman faced harassment from a bike rider while returning home on her scooter.

The incident took place on Shaheed Path in the Lucknow district on September 29.

Visuals showed the moment the biker inappropriately touched her waist from behind before speeding off, leaving the woman startled and struggling to maintain control of her scooter. Another bike rider, who was following them, filmed the entire act.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 10:15 PM on Sunday, and the woman filed an FIR on Tuesday. A resident of LDA Kanpur Road, she was returning home after a late meeting at her office in Sushant Golf City. As she approached Lulu Mall on Shaheed Path, an unknown man on a bike began closely following her.

The victim immediately contacted UP 112 for help but faced delays in filing her complaint. She was sent to multiple police stations before finally registering her case at Bijnor police station, which had jurisdiction over the crime scene.

Bijnor Inspector Arvind Kumar Rana confirmed that an FIR had been filed based on her complaint and that the police are tracking the accused using the bike’s registration number captured in the video. The woman shared her distress, explaining that she tried to slow down her scooter in hopes that the man would pass her, but he continued to follow her until the harassment occurred. The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many calling for swift action against the accused. DCP, South Zone, Keshav Kumar, stated that the accused has been traced through the bike number and teams have been formed to arrest him.
