17 cobras found in house in northern India, residents in panic

The incident took place in Kaparwar Uttar Tola village, Barhaj Tehsil in Deoria district on July 18.
Visuals showed the snakes, having been collected from the house, were placed inside a container. Inside, the multitude of serpents were visibly moving and writhing, each attempting to escape. Their bodies intertwined and pushed against the container walls, creating a chaotic scene. Someone then quickly secured the container with a lid, ensuring that the snakes could no longer attempt to escape.
According to reports a total of 17 cobra snakes were found emerging from a house, creating panic among the residents of Kaparwar Uttar Tola village. Suresh Sharma, the homeowner, resides with his family in a house built on the outskirts of the village. The incident began on Thursday when a snake was spotted inside one of the rooms. The women in the house raised an alarm, attracting the attention of nearby villagers.
As people gathered to capture the snake, another one appeared, followed by a stream of cobras. Within a short period, more than a dozen snakes had emerged, causing widespread panic. The villagers, along with the family, managed to rescue and safely contain all 17 cobras. They were carefully placed in a box and later released across the Ugarsen Setu river.
After the rescue operation, the household members and the villagers breathed a sigh of relief. According to reports, the house belongs to Suresh Sharma, who lives there with his family. The chaos began when the women were busy with their chores and noticed a snake slithering out of a room.
The alarmed villagers quickly gathered at Suresh’s house to find a cobra with its hood raised in a defensive posture. Despite the initial fright, the villagers displayed courage and managed to catch the snake. However, their relief was short-lived as more snakes began to emerge one after another. The villagers collectively caught 17 cobras and placed them in a container before releasing them across the river. Some snakes, however, managed to escape during the chaos.
Currently, both the household and the villagers are in shock, with a sense of fear permeating the entire village due to the unexpected emergence of the snakes.
